I do not believe anything in life happens by coincidence! I believe you are reading my Eye on Arbonne story for a reason. There is nothing special about me. I just decided that I was going to accomplish my goals and make my “dreams” my “reality,” and I was not going to give up until I achieved them.
I have been blessed because ever since starting my family 11 years ago, I have been able to work from home. I have a degree in accounting, and did billing and bookkeeping for a corporation from my home office. However, someone else had control over my destiny. If that job ended, I would be faced with having to leave my two boys at home for an office job, so we could afford to keep the lifestyle my family and I had become accustomed to. I had been searching for a plan B, just in case, when a plane ride changed the course of my life forever.
Two years ago, I was flying to Arizona to be with my sister and her family for the birth of their second child. On my way there, I sat next to ENVP Donna Johnson. I was very intrigued by her as a person, and equally intrigued about this company called Arbonne she was telling me about. I knew the products were different as soon as I tried them. I loved them immediately. As soon as I began to do my homework on the company, I saw the amazing potential! My husband and I made the decision that I was going to start my own Arbonne business. Since then, I have never looked back. I was committed to taking my business to the top. I realized this was the ideal plan B that I had been praying for! It gave me an opportunity to have everything I ever dreamed of. A life spent with my family; a life with the potential to live free of financial worries; a life where I was in control of my own destiny and a life defined by helping others achieve the same thing. My dad said, “Leap and the net will appear!” So, that is what I did, and he was right.
At first, I was not sure how I was going to fit my Arbonne business into my already busy schedule. Not only am I a mom of two young boys, Tyler, 11 and Justin, 9, but I still had a full-time bookkeeping job and managed the office for my husband’s very busy construction company. My husband helped me map out what days and hours I would work my Arbonne business, and I set out to do just that.
I spent the first few months of my business plugging into the system and following what my amazing upline manager, ENVP Dianne Partee, coached me to do. I have always been consistent in working my Arbonne business and sharing the opportunity every chance I get. I am passionate about sharing the products and the business, and being consistent in keeping my calendar full. In addition, I have coached my business builders to do the same. So much of this business is about planting seeds and being consistent in doing that. The harvest will be full if you have done your job well. It is not about how much time you have to devote to your Arbonne business. It is about being efficient with the time you do have. It is about leveraging your time and duplicating your efforts!
You must be disciplined and work consistently in order to become a leader and grow your business. The day you take complete responsibility for your business is when you will begin to succeed. Surround yourself with successful, positive and loving people. Look for people who have what you want, and find out what they did to achieve it.
Two years after starting my Arbonne business, I reflect back on my journey to National Vice President and the way it has changed and blessed my life. The best gift of all is how I have been able to change and bless other people’s lives in return. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you made a significant contribution to better someone else’s life. How many businesses allow you to help others attain and reach their goals, and automatically results in you reaching yours? I know of none, other than Arbonne.
On top of that, the personal growth I have gained is unlike anything I have ever experienced. What a rush it is to feel the fear and then do it anyway! What a reward it is to become the best person and leader you can be, and attract people who want to follow you on your journey. Arbonne has been the vehicle that has allowed me and many others in my Nation to start dreaming again. We do not have to settle for anything less than what we want in life, and through Arbonne, we have the ability to empower others to do the same.
There will undoubtedly be times on your journey when you will doubt yourself and wonder if you can do this. Just recognize the fear, and do it anyway. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Keep your eye on your goal. Be attached to the activity and not the outcome. The only way you will not make it to the top is to quit! Trust those who have gone before you and follow the system. Believe that you can, and you will. It has been said, “Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow!”
I first want to thank my amazing husband and soulmate, Greg. Greg, you are the wind beneath my wings. Without your constant love, support and belief in me, I would not have made it! Thank you for always being there to pick up the pieces and allowing me the time to build this business strong. You are the best part of me!
To my amazing boys, Tyler and Justin: You are my Why! Words cannot express how much I love you. I pray every day that God gives me the wisdom to raise you the best I can. Thank you for being my best promoters and supporters!
To my mom: I know you are smiling down on me from heaven. Thank you for being my angel. Dad: Thank you for instilling in me that I can do and be anything I put my mind to. To my little sister, RVP Carrie Johnson: Thank you for asking me to be with you while you were having Jacob. Without that one trip to see you, Arbonne would not have entered our lives. I am so glad that you finally decided after 14 months to join me on my journey with Arbonne. I thank God every day that I have you in my life. You are my best friend and a tremendous leader! Arbonne has given us yet another reason to talk several times a day.
To my awesome team: I am overwhelmed by what we have accomplished. It is exactly as they say in Arbonne, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” You have proved this to me! I feel so blessed and truly humbled to have such loving, amazing and generous women in my life.
